Metal laser cutting machines are increasingly used in the metal processing field, favored for their extremely high precision, high efficiency, and excellent results. However, based on our observations of customer feedback, a rough, jagged burr often appears on the cut cross-section. This is not a problem with the laser, but rather caused by the following improper operations:
1. Vibration
If the laser cutting machine vibrates, the cut product will have jagged edges. There are two main reasons for this. First, the external environment of the machine. For example, the exhaust fan should not be too close during cutting. If the exhaust fan is too close, or even leans against the machine tool, it will cause vibration during operation. This vibration will affect the cutting effect.
2. Machine Parallelism
If the machine’s parallel mechanism is not installed correctly, the machine will be unstable during operation, resulting in shaking and jagged defects in the cut product.
3. Lens Not Locked.
Sometimes, if the lens is not locked, it will vibrate during machine operation, and the light will also vibrate during cutting, resulting in poor cut quality and jagged edges.
4. Gears, Gear Seats, etc.
If the edge of the gear shift lever seat is close to the seat, causing slippage, this can also lead to this problem.
5. Slippage of the Sliding Buckle
Weared sliders or clogged beads on the slider cause vibration during operation on the guide rail. Therefore, many jagged marks will be produced when cutting materials. 6. Non-parallel guide rails.
If the two guide rails in the Y direction are not installed parallel, jamming will occur during operation, resulting in jagged edges during cutting. If jagged edges appear during laser cutting, you can hold the laser head by hand to prevent it from shaking during operation. If you cannot hold it, the problem may be with the slider; if jagged edges still appear, the belt and gears need to be checked. If it is a new machine, it may be due to incorrect installation or incompatibility between its control driver and motor.
